MFRL Year-End Meeting
Today (27th of December 2021), MFRL had its final group meeting for the year 2021. As usuall all group members must update their work progress and their planning for the coming month. Almost all of the members attended the meeting, which begins at 10 15 am and end at about 11 45 am. Everybody are hoping for better progress next year after struggling for about 2 years in MCO and series of work postponements. Before the meeting ends, the coordinator of the lab (Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Baharuddin bin Abdullah), take the opportunity to share the group achievements and set the target for the year 2022.

Congratulation to our formal members who are having their convocation day. Dr Azam, Adha and Norazlin. This is a new record to the lab as three of our members attend their convocation at the same time. Even though will straight SOP, the university managed to organized the event smoothly.
May this success motivate other group members. Congratulation again.
Add a commentParticipation at RCM&MAMIP 2021
Wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) is one the key research area at MFRL and it is expected year 2022 more impact discoveries may be found. On the 2nd of December 2021, one of the researchers, Puan Zarirah has presented her recent findings at RCM & MAMIP 2021, which was conducted online and organized by School of Material and Mineral Resources Engineering, USM. Her topic is on optimization of WAAM parameters using Taguchi Method.

Visit by Prof. Sapuan Salit
In conjuction with his appointment as External Examiner for Manufacturing Engineering with Management Programme's visit on the 1st and 2nd of December 2021, Prof. Sapuan took an opportunity to visit our lab and see the facilties available at the lab. Note that he is one of the co-reseacher for the development of hybrid machine funded by Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) under Protoype Research Grant Scheme (PRGS). He is well known scholar in the composite material and concurrent engineering. Serving as lecturer at Faculty of Engineering, UPM for almost 30 years. From the visit, he is quite impressed with the progression of the project and looking forward for further collaboration in the future.
